It is shameful that the referee was incompetent and demonstrated bias towards Morocco.
It is shameful that Morocco used all kinds of tricks known to our North African brothers to win... I am yet to see CAF penalize Morocco for the behavior of the ball boys and people in the field. Morocco should be banned from hosting any CAF competition for a decade or two until they demonstrate they won't cheat...
It is shameful that the Senegalese coach led his team out in protest on a big stage like the AFCON final.
The BIGGER SHAME is CAF using the back door to award Morocco a championship they did not deserve, and should have lost in the semi-final.... SHAME! SHAME!! SHAME!!! This is a horrible precedent that will dog African football for a long time if it is allowed to stay... They could fine Senegal a hefty amount or ban them from the next AFCON, etc, for walking off the field at a final like that. Awarding the championship to Morocco in a board room is STEALING, and it will create a crack that CAF will not be able to fill...
I hope the Court of Arbitration for Sport will reconsider this decision, which has further exposed the issue of corruption bedeviling Africa. #CAF @Confederation of African Football
I just came back from Nigeria . I traversed the length and breadth of the nation a bit in my three-week stay. Something is different about the country compared to when I visited last year.... The people are more desperate... Hunger has increased astronomically.... The gap between the haves and have-nots has further widened... You feel impunity in the air... You see police collecting bribes openly like we have not seen since the Shagari era in 1983... There are more law enforcement agents on the roads now, yet the crime rate has not abated... You see VIO , Road Safety, State Law enforcers, the Police, everywhere mounting illegal roadblocks... I heard things from those close to the seat of power about those who hold the reins of power, and I weep for Nigeria - it is beyond disheartening... Projects are being abandoned because a significant portion has been given as bribes to government officials like governors and ministers, including major monarchs - they all collect money for projects...
