IBB did Nigeria the Greatest Favor of his Lifetime with his Disclosure About the 1966 D'état

IBB, with his "Maradona" tendency, is playing Nigerians again with some of the content in his book. I have not read it myself, but excerpts from those who have read it show that he absolved the Ndigbos of directly orchestrating the 1966 coup de'tat... even though an Ibo man of Northern extraction (Kaduna Nzeogwu) led the coup, the then Head of State, Ironsi, an Ibo man, was not killed while several officers from the North were killed including the revered Premier of the Northern Region, Alhaji Ahmadu Bello. There were Yoruba officers among the coup plotters, while several Ibos were killed defending Nigeria.

Maybe and maybe IBB has done Nigeria the greatest favor in his evil and horrific life, with all the bad that he did. This assertion may help Nigeria heal finally, move on from the darkest moment in our history, and re-write the wrongs of the last 6 decades that the Ibos have faced. They have been shut out of the seat of power in Nigeria... If an Ibo man quashed the coup in Colonel Obienu, is that not enough reason to just remove all the other sentiments, pre-civil war? We are stronger together. Many accolades we have won together as a nation outside of politics have proved this. Without our brothers of Ibo extraction, many of our sporting victories, especially football, might not have been possible. They have brought several local and international honors to the fatherland. They are captains of industries around the world. It is clear in 2025 that division will not serve us... We need to leverage our diversity to strengthen our nation. We should bring our best and brightest minds from every ethnic group together to lead from within.

Nigeria needs to heal fully. Our brothers of Ibo extraction have done well despite the marginalization. They need to be more united among themselves to take their rightful seat in Nigeria... The country belongs to all of us, not the birthright of anyone as an ethnic group has alluded to in the past. If I am permitted to say this, Nigeria is overdue for a president of Igbo extraction.

THE GREATEST ASSET EVER – LAND “Every time I make a movie, I buy a LAND” – Tiffany Haddish (Actress, Comedian, Singer, and Producer). If you do not know yet, I announce to you that the greatest asset that will give you an assured return, whose value hardly depreciates, is LANDED property . Reflect on the major wars going on right now in the world that are predicated on the issue of LAND. WHY? It is one of the GEM God endows humanity with that is finite in quantity. While the human population continues to increase, land area remains the same or is diminishing due to climate change. The Russia's war in Ukraine , the Gaza war , the DRC-M23 war/Rwanda , Sudan's civil war , the Cambodia–Thai war , herdsmen-farmers' violence in Nigeria and the Ethiopian civil war … all are predicated on access to land and what is in it – rare earth minerals . So, in 2026 , if you have the opportunity to invest in an asset, think about landed property.

WHY DO BAD THINGS HAPPEN TO EXTREMELY GOOD PEOPLE

There is a saying in my language, Yoruba , that “Igi to ba to, kii pe n’gbo” – meaning, the good ones do not seem to last or live long. WHY? Tatiana Schlossberg, granddaughter of John F Kennedy (The U.S. President who championed the civil rights movement to end discrimination; one of the greatest U.S. presidents ever) and daughter of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis , passed away today from cancer at a young age of 35. Like her grandfather and many others in the Kennedy family, she dedicated her life to changing the world. She was a passionate environmental journalist for the New York Times and wrote a book titled "Inconspicuous Consumption: The Environmental Impact You Don’t Know You Have” in 2019 that won the Society of Environmental Journalists’ Rachel Carson Environment Book Award in 2020. Her life’s work sheds light on how individuals’ daily activities and choices exacerbate climate change issues . Tatiana Schlossberg's work focused on making complex environmental issue...
