Nigeria at 63: Bitter-Sweet Story

At 63, Nigeria is broke and caving under a heavy load of foreign and domestic debts. The nation lives on borrowed money ..it spends 99% of its revenue to service debts borrowed to execute mostly white elephant projects or money stolen by those trusted with our commonwealth...
Nigerians home and abroad are afraid at home for fear of bandits, kidnappers and terrorists. We have lost hosting right to many international events because no part of the nation is safe anymore..
Companies that have called Nigeria home for decades are leaving in drove because of high cost of doing business in Nigeria...a volatile currency and high cost of power....and insecurity and inconsistent government policy ...
The only ray of hope is the die-hard spirit of ordinary Nigerians, the entertainment industry (Nollywood & the music industry) that continues to put us on the global map, the individual effort of our athletes and Nigerians in the Diaspora who continue to shine because of enabling environment...
If Nigeria fails, the dark-skin Africans may never receive the respect they deserve. We will continue to be treated like imbecile and ignored. One in every five "black" man is a Nigerian. We are the face of Sub-Saharan Africa, the hope rest on us..
The religious houses have a great role to play because Nigerians are deeply religious and they listen to their religious leaders. "Salvation must begin in the house of God.."...
Ordinary Nigerians need to continue to stand up to demand for the Nigeria of their dream. We must not give up or give in to the political class that continue to fail us... those people using every ill to divide us and keep us under...the story of Nigeria is bitter-sweet ....
Happy independence day y'all!

DARWANIAN Theory - The Driving Force Behind America's Capitalism Philosophy

Communism died, and capitalism survived. Capitalism is a supposed system that allows freeness in an economy - market forces in the hands of private owners control what happens to the economy with minimal influence by the state. Capitalism has produced enormous wealth in the West. There are so many millionaires and billionaires. The question is, what is the ratio of the stupendously rich and those who are just scraping by - living from pay check-to-pay check? The gap is huge between the rich and the poor in most capitalist states. When President Trump was going to deliver his tax reform, it favored the rich with about 80% of the tax benefits going to the top 1% richest people in America. The argument was that they create jobs, they should benefit more - money is being given to those who really do not need the extra cash but those who need it the most, aids is been taken away from people who are at the bottom of the ladder because of a few who lie on their social welfare claims. Lagos - Calabar Coastal Highway, Another White Elephant Project by the Nigerian Government?

Except Nigeria changes its approach to project execution fundamentally, I do not see the Lagos - Calabar Coastal Highway project finishing in my lifetime. This project was conceived in 2006 by OBJ, 18 years ago. They are just starting today... 2024. If things are done properly, it will take 8 years - 8 years oh... that could be 80 years in Nigeria. How many decades since the Ibadan - Ilorin highway was conceived (since 1979) - it was restarted in 1999 during OBJ who conceived the road during his first stint in government as a military head of state. The road is yet to be completed, and the portion completed is already dilapidated, worse than the old road. Lagos - Ibadan expressway is yet to be fully completed 25 years since it was awarded. There have been several awards and re-awards since 1999 and billions of dollars have been wasted on a major road that links the commercial hub of Nigeria to the rest of the nation. There are so many other Federal highways like this, especially those ...
