How to obtain your Nigerian Tax ID Number

For my peeps in Nigeria and the diaspora who are not aware of this new requirement that shuts you out of your bank accounts starting from January 2026, here is the link to obtaining your Nigerian Tax ID if you have a BVN and/ or NIN already: https://tin.jtb.gov.ng/TinIndividualRequestExternal

Here is how to obtain your individual TIN:
1. Gather your BVN or NIN.
2. Go to the TIN Registration Portal using the link above.
3. Fill in your information: Your BVN and/or NIN, full name, date of birth, phone number, and address.
4. Submit your application afterward
5. Receive Your TIN: Your TIN will be generated and provided to you, usually within 48 h.
