Until Ordinary Nigerians Seize the Power that Belongs to them, There Will Not Be Progress in That Country

When I see the shameful drama unfolding in the Senate in Nigeria, I see impunity. When those who are supposedly elected into political offices are abusing the power they hold in trust for the rest of us in daylight, then you know they have no fear of the electorate... The Senate President in Nigeria, Akpabio, forced a motion that obviously failed, down the throat of his colleagues... The motion was to humiliate Senator Natasha and force her to apologize for daring to accuse Akpabio of alleged sexual harassment before she is re-admitted to the senate after serving the unlawful six-month suspension imposed on her.

What saddens me the most are the fellow female senators who have either kept quiet or have reprimanded Senator Natasha for speaking out, including the wife of the president, Remi Tinubu, who faced many sexist comments and threats when she was a senator. Remi Tinubu was told to her face that she would be impregnated by a Senator (Dino) if she was not careful. This is 2025 for God's sake, why are some people behaving like they are in the jungle. This is beyond disgraceful. The longer this lingers, the more disgrace it brings to Akpabio and Nigerian men.

Another sad point is a former Senator from the South West who said Senator Natasha's problem is her beauty. Wow! so, she should hide because she is beautiful and not serve her people. This woman is a lioness. She conquered the almighty ex-governor Yahaya Bello who defeated and clipped Dino Melaye's wings in Kogi State. Senator Akpabio will lose this one. He has poked the wrong lioness.

Akpabio is innocent until proven guilty. However, he is acting as if he is guilty because of the speed at which the investigation was run, and the lack of transparency in the process. It lost all credibility in its absolute terms.

This is 2025, and all forms of sexual harassment that objectify women should stop. Those whose eyes do not stay in one place when they see a pretty face should use a padlock to hold their thing and get a special blindfold when a pretty face is around. Natasha will serve her constituency before our very eyes, and its proceeds shall benefit all Nigerians. The Ajaokuta Steel Rolling Mill she is fighting for will be active and functional. She will live to win this battle and other battles for ordinary Nigerians. Enough of this nonsense sexist and disgraceful behavior.

THE GREATEST ASSET EVER – LAND “Every time I make a movie, I buy a LAND” – Tiffany Haddish (Actress, Comedian, Singer, and Producer). If you do not know yet, I announce to you that the greatest asset that will give you an assured return, whose value hardly depreciates, is LANDED property . Reflect on the major wars going on right now in the world that are predicated on the issue of LAND. WHY? It is one of the GEM God endows humanity with that is finite in quantity. While the human population continues to increase, land area remains the same or is diminishing due to climate change. The Russia's war in Ukraine , the Gaza war , the DRC-M23 war/Rwanda , Sudan's civil war , the Cambodia–Thai war , herdsmen-farmers' violence in Nigeria and the Ethiopian civil war … all are predicated on access to land and what is in it – rare earth minerals . So, in 2026 , if you have the opportunity to invest in an asset, think about landed property.

WHY DO BAD THINGS HAPPEN TO EXTREMELY GOOD PEOPLE

There is a saying in my language, Yoruba , that “Igi to ba to, kii pe n’gbo” – meaning, the good ones do not seem to last or live long. WHY? Tatiana Schlossberg, granddaughter of John F Kennedy (The U.S. President who championed the civil rights movement to end discrimination; one of the greatest U.S. presidents ever) and daughter of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis , passed away today from cancer at a young age of 35. Like her grandfather and many others in the Kennedy family, she dedicated her life to changing the world. She was a passionate environmental journalist for the New York Times and wrote a book titled "Inconspicuous Consumption: The Environmental Impact You Don’t Know You Have” in 2019 that won the Society of Environmental Journalists’ Rachel Carson Environment Book Award in 2020. Her life’s work sheds light on how individuals’ daily activities and choices exacerbate climate change issues . Tatiana Schlossberg's work focused on making complex environmental issue...
