WISDOM NUGGETS - COMPROMISE PANACEA OF CONFLICTS

A relationship where both parties cannot compromise when conflict arises will not last. If you cannot meet each other in the middle ground and everyone is standing his/her ground and not willing to move to the middle and give something, the relationship will break apart - professional collaboration, marriage, friendship, siblings, congregation, fellowship, communities, nations, etc. Traditions, religious beliefs, culture, laws, self-acquired positions, etc. notwithstanding. Ask peace negotiators, they will tell you this is paramount wisdom in peaceful conflict resolution.
 
Comprise is a hard sell. When you can attain it, life will be better, you will build lasting relationships, and probably will never experience divorce, wars, constant conflict, among others.
 
Are you willing to forgive, are you willing to love unconditionally, are you willing to ignore the mistakes of the past, are you committing to be faithful, will you be trustworthy going forward, are you willing to tell the truth, can you truly say sorry, can you accept others as they are, can you treat people as they want to be treated, can you give space when people need space (e.g., when they are grieving, when they are angry, when they are disappointed, ....) and not be selfish ...... etcetera.

WHY DO BAD THINGS HAPPEN TO EXTREMELY GOOD PEOPLE

There is a saying in my language, Yoruba , that “Igi to ba to, kii pe n’gbo” – meaning, the good ones do not seem to last or live long. WHY? Tatiana Schlossberg, granddaughter of John F Kennedy (The U.S. President who championed the civil rights movement to end discrimination; one of the greatest U.S. presidents ever) and daughter of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis , passed away today from cancer at a young age of 35. Like her grandfather and many others in the Kennedy family, she dedicated her life to changing the world. She was a passionate environmental journalist for the New York Times and wrote a book titled "Inconspicuous Consumption: The Environmental Impact You Don’t Know You Have” in 2019 that won the Society of Environmental Journalists’ Rachel Carson Environment Book Award in 2020.
