America has become a "banana republic" where everything goes...

The founding fathers were motivated to leave Europe because they did not want to live under a King. They wanted to be led by leaders who are equal under the law, who are not above the law, who respect the rule of law... Leaders who will not appoint their children to plum positions in government. Who will not appoint people whose main qualification is that they are their in-laws. They will not pardon their loyalists who have broken the law or their in-laws. They will not pardon their friends. They will not pardon their son and retroactively apply the law to the last ten years... From Trump to now, Biden, American Presidency has been soiled...

Soon, the nation will inaugurate the first convicted felon as president... That seat in the White House is stained forever because any element can aspire into that office, so long they can lie their way there... These are dangerous precedents and put the entire humanity in jeopardy..That is the most powerful seat in our world today, take it or leave it. When an inherently corrupt man leads a nation, he will abuse the power of the office...

I am disappointed that President Biden took the step he took yesterday, by pardoning his son. It is fair to say the convictions were politically motivated because his opponents allegedly orchestrated the theft of his son's laptop. If someone steals Trump Jr.'s laptop now, what are we going to find there? Those close to the seat of power can attest that the rich and powerful always have their hands full of blood. Jerry Kushner lied twice on a federal security background check form before he was made special envoy to the Middle East. That was what Biden's son was convicted of. He lied about hard drug use when he wanted to purchase a gun... At most, it should have been a misdemeanor... The tax conviction is frivolous as well... Trump escaped going to jail for a similar offense in NY... I wish Biden never set the stage for Trump to pardon all January 6 rioters whose actions led to the death of many...

The founders knew the system they created was not perfect, so they said it is an experiment that would forever need fine-tuning. Unfortunately, that tuning is skewed for the worse not for the better... I hope there will be a leader in the future who will restore the dignity of the American democracy... One can only imagine the atrocities that will ensue in the next four years if Trump's first four years were to be the yardstick...
