Are you ready, Nigerian youths (those between 18 - 40 years)? Nigerian youths constitute over 70% of the electorate, the power to influence a change and install the right leader is in the hands of young Nigerians. Please, seize this power - the power of your vote.
I implore Nigerians, especially the youth, to troop out on Saturday to vote, bearing in mind that the nation's future is in their hands. We cannot afford to experiment or make another mistake. It will be another four years of compounded suffering that will escalate. There is a need for power to change hands to the person that you believe will lead a change for ALL Nigerians - not the one that will benefit you personally because he is of the same religion or ethnic group as you, or because he will give you contract or hire your family. When Nigeria is prosperous, you do not need any politician to be successful, you just need to work hard and be ready to stake rightly.
I, like many Nigerians in the diaspora, am nervous and at the same time excited that Nigeria is on the verge again. We are not sure what will happen on Saturday. We hope the powers that be will let the vote of ordinary Nigerians count. May His will be done, and long live Nigeria.
I just came back from Nigeria . I traversed the length and breadth of the nation a bit in my three-week stay. Something is different about the country compared to when I visited last year.... The people are more desperate... Hunger has increased astronomically.... The gap between the haves and have-nots has further widened... You feel impunity in the air... You see police collecting bribes openly like we have not seen since the Shagari era in 1983... There are more law enforcement agents on the roads now, yet the crime rate has not abated... You see VIO , Road Safety, State Law enforcers, the Police, everywhere mounting illegal roadblocks... I heard things from those close to the seat of power about those who hold the reins of power, and I weep for Nigeria - it is beyond disheartening... Projects are being abandoned because a significant portion has been given as bribes to government officials like governors and ministers, including major monarchs - they all collect money for projects...
