Pasan ta fi na iyale mbe l'aja fun'yawo - Beware, Dancing Senator

I congratulate the newly sworn-in governor of Osun state, Governor Adeleke a.k.a., dancing senator. As Osun state starts a new chapter in its history, I hope the new governor will learn a lesson or two from the party who lost the election to his party.
1. Respect the wishes of the people, if you believe the electorate count and that they are your boss, do what will transform their lives.
2. Being in government is not an opportunity to practice nepotism, choose the best among your ranks and other intellectuals who are thinkers who are loyal Osun indigenes irrespective of party affiliation. Not your family members..
3. Government purse is our commonwealth, it should not be looted or spent on white elephant projects. Rather, it should be used for developmental activities that will bring returns in the interim and foreseeable future. You are blessed with wealth already, the little you will oversee in Osun should not be used to lay your pocket or those of your cronies but to serve the people of Osun.
4. Surround yourself with smart people who share your vision for success and are CAPABLE to deliver for you and the people of Osun.
5. Osun is so blessed in many ways that it could generate so much to execute developmental projects without borrowing to a stupor. The tourism sector (traditional and educational tourism) and agricultural production and food processing if well managed, can spin billions of dollars for Osun. A world-class nursing and medical school that will train practitioners for local and foreign medical organizations with the agreement between public-private investors involvement - this will yield millions of dollars; we are yet to scratch the surface of what is possible with Osun's vast tourist attractions; Osun can become the food basket of the South West through collaborative investment in agricultural production and value-added processing - Ofada rice, cocoa, chocolate, palm tree products, power generation, fruits, vegetables, flowers, etc., all year round with irrigation farming.
6. Borrow a thing or two from Governor Makinde of Oyo state on how to deliver "dividends" of democracy to the people of Osun.
7. Do not be afraid to sack anybody in your government if they are not performing to what is expected.
8. Tap on the brains of smart Osun Indigenes at home and in the diaspora to lead a developmental program that no one has seen its kind before. Use all your connections to transform Osun state.
...........
There is a saying in Yoruba, "Pasan ta fi na iyale mbe l'aja fun'yawo". If you fail the people of Osun, you will be a one-term governor and the people of Osun will vote you out.
IGBA OTUN A BA OSUN OH - OSUN O NI BAJE.....

DARWANIAN Theory - The Driving Force Behind America's Capitalism Philosophy

Communism died, and capitalism survived. Capitalism is a supposed system that allows freeness in an economy - market forces in the hands of private owners control what happens to the economy with minimal influence by the state. Capitalism has produced enormous wealth in the West. There are so many millionaires and billionaires. The question is, what is the ratio of the stupendously rich and those who are just scraping by - living from pay check-to-pay check? The gap is huge between the rich and the poor in most capitalist states. When President Trump was going to deliver his tax reform, it favored the rich with about 80% of the tax benefits going to the top 1% richest people in America. The argument was that they create jobs, they should benefit more - money is being given to those who really do not need the extra cash but those who need it the most, aids is been taken away from people who are at the bottom of the ladder because of a few who lie on their social welfare claims. Lagos - Calabar Coastal Highway, Another White Elephant Project by the Nigerian Government?

Except Nigeria changes its approach to project execution fundamentally, I do not see the Lagos - Calabar Coastal Highway project finishing in my lifetime. This project was conceived in 2006 by OBJ, 18 years ago. They are just starting today... 2024. If things are done properly, it will take 8 years - 8 years oh... that could be 80 years in Nigeria. How many decades since the Ibadan - Ilorin highway was conceived (since 1979) - it was restarted in 1999 during OBJ who conceived the road during his first stint in government as a military head of state. The road is yet to be completed, and the portion completed is already dilapidated, worse than the old road. Lagos - Ibadan expressway is yet to be fully completed 25 years since it was awarded. There have been several awards and re-awards since 1999 and billions of dollars have been wasted on a major road that links the commercial hub of Nigeria to the rest of the nation. There are so many other Federal highways like this, especially those ...
