My Take on the Aftermath of Osun State 2018 Governorship Election -The Need to Choose Carefully in the Re-Run

I tell it at as I see it - here is my take on the Osun 2018 Governorship Election based on what we know in part:

Omisore would have won the election in a place where people make a judgment based on quality and facts displayed, unfortunately, he ran on a weak platform because he was in a hurry and he allegedly connived to destroy the platform that should have raised him and he became homeless only to settle for a forgotten podium, SDP. He showed color, depth, understanding of Osun's problems and how Aregbe got it all wrong and what Osun's government suppose to have focused on - Massive Agricultural Production & Processing, and Human Capital Development; Oyetola, with all his backing, failed to defend Aregbe's many failed policies; the other 2 candidates in the election, Adeoti and Akinbade were mere spectators even though Adeoti may be the reason Oyetola-APC did not win a landslide because he defected to ADP with 75% of APC exco in the aftermath of rigged APC primary in favor of Tinubu's cousin from Iragbiji - Oyetola; the purported winner of Saturday's election was a NO-SHOW, maybe he was scared because he could not articulate his plans and could not compete in a public debate - he feared what is left of his honored will be soiled at the debate. Is it not a shame that a man who failed WAEC and no one is sure he got the degree he claimed he got in the US will defeat a candidate of an incumbent party without facing the hot seat in a debate? I pity the ignorance of Osun people for choosing Adeleke in place of Omisore or Oyetola. If Adeleke wins the re-run, the delicate economic situation in Osun will be further compounded and the state may declare bankruptcy under Adeleke. Some said he has engaged in philanthropy since he became a Senator - Omisore does philanthropically work during and after his time as the Senator, why was he not a choice - the stigma of Bola Ige will not leave him even though he articulated a better vision for Osun, and Oyetola is so arrogant and clueless as to the mindset of the people of Osun - he thought he would just cruise to victory, forgetting his benefactor had wrecked havoc that the people of Osun are waiting for payback time.

Here is my take, Adeleke cannot be a good governor for Osun - we do not know what he stands for, he has no record of leading anything to prosperity because he had lived in the shadow of his brother for so long. Adeleke's so called scholarship is no evidence of leadership or achievement in office - anyone can do that. All we know about Adeleke is personaified in his dancing - no serious leader will dance publicly the way he does - he a jolly jolly, jaiye-jaiye leader. We all know what "omo Jaiye-Jaiye do with free money - they spend carelessly. Osun is in trouble if Adeleke wins a re-run. Omisore, in spite of him being a better candidate as he showed during the debate, may never be able to win are-run because of what hangs over him - he needs a strong platform to ever see the seat of power in Osun if it will ever happen. With Omisore's alliance with PDP, I fear Osun is going down the drain, and from frying pan to fire - God save the State of the Living Spring.

I will say this will all emphasis, I prefer Oyetola to Adeleke any day in the current clime. Osun people should not think because they hate what Aregbe and APC did to Osun, so they will choose a clueless leader like Adeleke to lead them into prosperity. I do not care about his alliance with Omisore, he cannot lead. There is no evidence he can deliver anything to Osun people. Osun is in grave danger if left in the hands of Adeleke - it will be looting like never seen before. With the connection with Saraki, it is even worse - Saraki is an alleged chief looter in Nigeria, I hope our people hid the call for re-think before the re-run on Thursday. Osun a daara oh. If we choose a clueless leader out of vendetta with Aregbe, we will cry foul at the end of four years, that is if there is a state left to govern. This is my personal opinion based on what I know in part.

THE GREATEST ASSET EVER – LAND “Every time I make a movie, I buy a LAND” – Tiffany Haddish (Actress, Comedian, Singer, and Producer). If you do not know yet, I announce to you that the greatest asset that will give you an assured return, whose value hardly depreciates, is LANDED property . Reflect on the major wars going on right now in the world that are predicated on the issue of LAND. WHY? It is one of the GEM God endows humanity with that is finite in quantity. While the human population continues to increase, land area remains the same or is diminishing due to climate change. The Russia's war in Ukraine , the Gaza war , the DRC-M23 war/Rwanda , Sudan's civil war , the Cambodia–Thai war , herdsmen-farmers' violence in Nigeria and the Ethiopian civil war … all are predicated on access to land and what is in it – rare earth minerals . So, in 2026 , if you have the opportunity to invest in an asset, think about landed property.

WHY DO BAD THINGS HAPPEN TO EXTREMELY GOOD PEOPLE

There is a saying in my language, Yoruba , that “Igi to ba to, kii pe n’gbo” – meaning, the good ones do not seem to last or live long. WHY? Tatiana Schlossberg, granddaughter of John F Kennedy (The U.S. President who championed the civil rights movement to end discrimination; one of the greatest U.S. presidents ever) and daughter of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis , passed away today from cancer at a young age of 35. Like her grandfather and many others in the Kennedy family, she dedicated her life to changing the world. She was a passionate environmental journalist for the New York Times and wrote a book titled "Inconspicuous Consumption: The Environmental Impact You Don’t Know You Have” in 2019 that won the Society of Environmental Journalists’ Rachel Carson Environment Book Award in 2020. Her life’s work sheds light on how individuals’ daily activities and choices exacerbate climate change issues . Tatiana Schlossberg's work focused on making complex environmental issue...
