Response to a friend on Facebook who asked to explain why Jonathan’s government was a failure

What explanation do you want bros? Are you saying Jonathan built Nigeria - why did Nigerians reject him in 2015? If Jonathan led the nation to benefit the poor, would they have rejected him? All the loots recovered are evidence of Jonathan's incompetence. The fact that he did not accomplish anything concrete - he started projects yes, but at what cost?

He did well by organizing free and fair election but he only handed over because he was overwhelmed and he had no gut like other greedy incumbents before him. He stole taxpayers’ money to bribe anyone bribable through Dasuki (the evidence is all over the place) or what is his name. Jonathan was an outright failure - there are two things that annoys me the most about Jonathan, the fact that he went on national TV to rationalize corruption, calling it mere stealing and his posture on Chibok girls.

Jonathan is not responsible for Nigeria turning the table on cement export – it was because of the ingenious of Dangote. How can Jonathan take credit for that? If you look at cement business, Dangote sells to us at over N2,000 but sells in other countries at N800, does that make sense – of course, he has the backing of the Federal government.

Making a policy to favor one man, turning him into a billionaire at the expense of the rest of Nigerians is nothing NONSENSICAL, meaning there is no sense in it, and it is no achievement. Any sensible Nigerian would know that it is better for our youths (most of them) to have jobs than to have one man referred to as the richest black man in the world.

Jonathan claimed to have stopped fuel scarcity. This is wickedness. How can someone that turned the 8th largest producer of petroleum in the world to petroleum product importer. What sense is in that? Four refineries, and none in functional state, and Jonathan was president for 5 years. How is this a success? Jonathan made man of the families of politician’s billionaire over night for doing nothing in the name of importing petroleum. Nigeria was paying over N1.7 trillion yearly in petroleum product subsidy, most it going into the pocket of people who did not import one liter of petrol. This is a shame! SHAME!

Was Jonathan a leader, or an incompetent coward? The latter of course. I credit him for handing over after all his bribing to remain in power failed, but I tell you, his reason is nothing but cowardice. He had no balls in the negative.

But, you know what, Buhari's government has already outperformed Jonathan in EVIL works - Buhari's government has had access to more resources than Jonathan with NOTHING to show for it, absolutely NOTHING, Nigeria is worse off today than when Buhari took over. That is my point.

STATE OF THE NATION - Nigeria takes one step forward, and ten steps backward...

I just came back from Nigeria . I traversed the length and breadth of the nation a bit in my three-week stay. Something is different about the country compared to when I visited last year.... The people are more desperate... Hunger has increased astronomically.... The gap between the haves and have-nots has further widened... You feel impunity in the air... You see police collecting bribes openly like we have not seen since the Shagari era in 1983... There are more law enforcement agents on the roads now, yet the crime rate has not abated... You see VIO , Road Safety, State Law enforcers, the Police, everywhere mounting illegal roadblocks... I heard things from those close to the seat of power about those who hold the reins of power, and I weep for Nigeria - it is beyond disheartening... Projects are being abandoned because a significant portion has been given as bribes to government officials like governors and ministers, including major monarchs - they all collect money for projects...

WAR SERVES NO GOOD ENDING - AT LEAST, NOT FOR THE WEST

Warmongers are about to escalate the crisis in the Middle East . These people appear clueless about the cost of war. The U.S. Congress will not fund another war, including politicians on both sides. There is opposition to another war anywhere. They want to use brute force to compel Congress to act - they have amassed over 50,000 troops in the Middle East... They are miscalculating, thinking they can go in and come out quickly... they are underestimating their opponent again... The lesson of the last six weeks is not enough. This is another Afghanistan in the making - trillions was spent fighting the Taliban for almost 20 years, only for the Taliban to return the government they have propped up in just a few days of war... They pray (not sure, which god - not the God of the Bible I read, who under grace abhor wars) about going to fight a needless war; they are sending other people's children to go and die, while their own are safe under the protection of the state. Over 7,000 A...
