Our world will never remain the same

Like a dream, thoughts were cast and statements were made, sown like seeds
Nobody thought they will land, let alone grow and stay in the heart of men
Alas! The chord struck resonated, it resonated with those who call themselves patriots
The chord sounded like the one we just heard across the sea
The sound became louder and it was re-echoed

The time came, and choices were made
Before we know what was going on, our greatest nightmare has become a reality (came true)
The realty TV actor and pseudo-business mogul has been elected the leader of the most powerful country in the world
Our world will never remain the same again – which way, no one can tell
But there are lots of fears, that we may be reaching the beginning of the end

Those who were trusted to make this change are convinced that this is what is needed
But no one knows if they knew the full import of their decision
While some held on to the promises that are too good to be true
Some just wanted a change at all cost
A change that looks different from what they have known
Some even called this the hand of God, a fulfillment of His prophesy and promises
Many did not even know what they voted for, a savior or a monster

May evil days be far from us
May the change we anticipate not change our world in a way we will be no more
Our world will never remain the same

LAND AND THINGS IN IT - THE CORE FUEL OF GLOBAL DISPUTES

Ukraine , DR Congo , Gaza , Sudan , all forgotten... WHY? We all know the answer... In all these wars ranging, one thing clearly defines them... the quest to take LAND and resources in it from others forcefully... The crisis in the Middle East has nothing to do with religion as some want us to believe... It is a quest to remove the most serious threat to another nation's quest to take other people's land on the premise that it was promised to them by their god over two thousand years ago... Let this country abandon its quest to forcefully take land that does not belong to it anymore and seek true peace (not one sided peace with bomb on one hand and two fingers up on another), it will cease to create enemies for itself, and terrorism will be abated as we know it today... After all, some of its neighbors signed a peace accord called the " Abraham Accord " despite the fact that they take more and more land from the West Bank in violation of international law ( Oslo Acc...

STATE OF THE NATION - Nigeria takes one step forward, and ten steps backward...

I just came back from Nigeria . I traversed the length and breadth of the nation a bit in my three-week stay. Something is different about the country compared to when I visited last year.... The people are more desperate... Hunger has increased astronomically.... The gap between the haves and have-nots has further widened... You feel impunity in the air... You see police collecting bribes openly like we have not seen since the Shagari era in 1983... There are more law enforcement agents on the roads now, yet the crime rate has not abated... You see VIO , Road Safety, State Law enforcers, the Police, everywhere mounting illegal roadblocks... I heard things from those close to the seat of power about those who hold the reins of power, and I weep for Nigeria - it is beyond disheartening... Projects are being abandoned because a significant portion has been given as bribes to government officials like governors and ministers, including major monarchs - they all collect money for projects...
